Summary
An Air Intelligence Information Report (IR 193-55) prepared by the U.S. Air Attaché in Prague, Lt. Col. Thomas S. Ryan, with Lt. Col. E. U. Hathaway as source (evaluation B-2), relays an eyewitness account by three U.S. observers traveling by rail who were "firmly convinced that they saw a genuine flying saucer or flying disc." It says that at 1910 hours on Oct. 4, 1955, ten minutes after leaving Alyaty, one disc rose almost vertically at relatively slow speed, its outer surface revolving slowly to the right, to about 6,000 feet, then sharply sped up heading north, and a second did the same about a minute later, from an area 1–2 miles south of the tracks where two searchlight beams pointed up. The attaché comments that the report's significance is "remarkable and lends credence to many 'saucer' reports."
Note
The attaché's version of the Senator Russell party sighting; compare CIA-UAP-D020, where the CIA reached a more skeptical conclusion, and CIA-UAP-006.
