Summary
An FBI Detroit memorandum records a 4:08 a.m. phone call from a 23-year-old man, the son of a Detroit policeman with Civil Air Patrol experience, who reported a circular object with a crystal-type dome that reflected lights, passing from the southwest heading north and crossing the city three blocks south of Six Mile at Lamphere Street. He said he could not reach Selfridge Field and was not too familiar with aircraft identification. The memo recommends advising the proper Air Force authorities.
