Summary
The first section of FBI file 62-HQ-83894 (serials 1-52) contains 1947 telegrams, memoranda and newspaper clippings on flying disc reports. Items include a July 8, 1947 FBI Dallas teletype stating that "AN OBJECT PURPORTING TO BE A FLYING DISC WAS RECOVERED NEAR ROSWELL, NEW MEXICO," described as hexagonal and suspended from a balloon, and that it "RESEMBLES A HIGH ALTITUDE WEATHER BALLOON WITH A RADAR REFLECTOR," and a July 23, 1947 memorandum for D. M. Ladd. Much of the text is poorly legible.
