Summary
A nine-page FBI serial in which the Knoxville office sends the Bureau, under the heading "Flying Saucers" Observed over Oak Ridge Area (Internal Security), "two photographs of reputedly 'flying saucers' seen at Oak Ridge, Tennessee, during July 1947" and a photostat of a Knoxville News-Sentinel clipping. The clipping says a resident photographing his family at 28 Illinois Avenue used his last frame on a picture toward the mountain and says "It is a Flying Saucer." The two photographs (image-only; no captions) show a residential street with utility poles, one with a bright spot in the sky; much of the scan is envelopes and blank backs.
Note
The "flying saucer" identification is the newspaper's, not the FBI's; the clipping is credited to the Knoxville News-Sentinel. Coords are Oak Ridge town center.
