Summary
ORNL analyzed, at AARO's request, a layered magnesium–zinc specimen with bismuth bands that is "claimed to be recovered from an unidentified anomalous phenomenon (UAP) crash in or around 1947" and claimed to act as a terahertz waveguide. ORNL received access through DEVCOM beginning in February 2023, under the TTSA–DEVCOM CRADA. ORNL reports that the bismuth layers "do not meet the requirements necessary to serve as a terahertz waveguide" and that "all data strongly support that the material is terrestrial in origin."
Note
ORNL-authored and AARO-sponsored. The document is undated; AARO's supplement (AARO-011) says ORNL produced it in April 2024.
