Summary
An unevaluated CIA information report relays the account of a 41-year-old U.S. national, a corporate executive with no aviation training, who was riding a train from Baku to Tiflis with three other Americans. He says that after dark a searchlight lit a triangular object about the size of a U.S. jet fighter on an airfield roughly two miles away, which was launched, spiraled three to seven times, and climbed steeply at about 45 degrees; a companion said it was the second launch in quick succession. The source adds that a steward then pulled the blinds, apparently on the order of an MVD officer aboard the train.
Note
A single-source tourist account the CIA labels unevaluated; it reads as a report on a possible Soviet aircraft or missile launch rather than anything exotic.
