Summary
A 3 SOS report says during return to base the crew observed "GLOWING HOT SPHERICAL UNIDENTIFIED OBJECT WITH A VERTICAL UNWAVERING CYLINDRICAL POLE/BAR ATTACHED ON THE BOTTOM" ("POSS REFLECTION FROM THE OBJECT IN THE WATER"), "FLYING STRAIGHT JUST OVER THE WATER AT SPEED OF 140KNOTS." There was no change in response to observer actions, and the observer assessed it as benign. The crew was at 23,999 ft on an ISR tasking to scan for dhows.
Note
The report itself suggests the "bar" may be a reflection.
