Summary
A range fouler form from the 77 EFS for a night defensive counter-air mission says KINGPIN directed an ID of an unknown contact; the crew obtained radar lock and targeting pod video but could not get closer than 16.9 nm. The pod showed "2 IR SIGNIFICANT CONTACTS. ONE RANGE FOULER WAS CIRCLING AROUND THE OTHER. IN 1/30TH OF A SECOND, THEY WERE GONE"; the crew also saw "2X RED BLINKING STROBES" and received noise jamming. The form lists altitude 26000; names and coordinates are redacted.
Note
The red blinking strobes and jamming are reported alongside the disappearance; the form does not offer an explanation.
