Summary
A 1948 Office, Chief Army Field Forces file holds a Dec. 13, 1948, letter from the Commandant, Fifth Naval District, quoting a Chief of Naval Operations letter on "Flying Discs." It says the Director of Intelligence, U.S. Air Force, had informed the Navy "that a cycle of reappearance of 'Flying Discs' is becoming apparent, and that the beginning of a new interval is imminent," and asks that all stations report sightings of "Flying Discs" or other unidentified aerial objects to the nearest Air Force command and the Naval District Intelligence Office, with photographs "whenever possible." A routing page with Army file numbers follows.
Note
A reporting directive, not a sighting report.
