Summary
A transcript of a March 1952 recorded presentation by Capt. Edward J. Ruppelt on the Air Force's reorganized investigation of unidentified flying objects, with an introductory note from the Office of the Under Secretary of War. Ruppelt describes planned methods such as diffraction-grating photography and radar-scope cameras, and says Air Defense Command radars tracked objects 'anywhere from 1,000 up to about 3,500 miles an hour.' The introductory note says about 20% of roughly 800 cases reviewed remained unexplained.
