Summary

Radar operators at Detachment 2 of the 737th AC&W Squadron saw returns that changed between V, W and M shapes, numbering one to twelve, about 20 to 40 miles out on an azimuth of 25 degrees, before they faded after several minutes. Electronics personnel at the 316th Air Division suggest anomalous propagation, ship-borne radar jamming, or geese or storks in flight. The summary states: "Logical deduction is that one of above mentioned possibilities is radar return."

Note

Radar-only report with no visual sighting; coords omitted because the site is given only as a geo-ref code.
