Summary
The file opens with an index of UFO-related items, partly illegible in the OCR, and holds Ford's release of 25 March 1966 calling for a congressional inquiry and his release of 28 March 1966 announcing letters to the chairmen of the House Armed Services and Science and Astronautics Committees. The 28 March release says Ford describes the "swamp gas" explanation given by astrophysicist J. Allen Hynek as "flippant". Later items in the file run to October 1966.
