Summary
A cover page and one page from NASA's Apollo 17 Technical Crew Debriefing. A crewman describes seeing, after a fireball's brightness decreased, "kind of like a tunnel with a bright spot in the middle"; another recalls that the only unusual sighting during landing or recovery was the command module pilot seeing an aircraft carrier's superstructure and saying "we've got a tin can with us." Schmitt says, "We had light flashes just about continuously during the whole flight when we were dark adapted," including one he "thought was a flash on the lunar surface," and that none were visible while blindfolded for the ALFMED experiment.
Note
Astronaut light-flash reports from a formal debriefing; the excerpt offers no explanation and none is added here.
